Grants and Scholarships with the LEAST Amount of Eligibility Requirements so just about ANYONE can Apply

This web page was updated January 2025.

There are hundreds of thousands of college grants and scholarships available, but many people will find that most of the scholarships will have specific eligibility requirements that prevent them from applying for those scholarships. Many scholarships are based on criteria such as gender, race, financial status, marital status, military service, location, school, and more. Many people ask if there are "ANY scholarships that have ALMOST NO eligibility requirements so that just about anyone can apply for them? Are there specific scholarships that are for everyone? Are there scholarships for U.S. citizens OR non-U.S. citizens that the only requirement is wanting financial aid so that they can go to school?" The answer is YES, there ARE such scholarships. It appears that there are NOT a lot of these type of scholarships, but there are some.

Following is a list of some college grants and scholarships that have the LEAST amount of eligibility requirements so just about any United States citizen or legal resident can apply for these grants and scholarships for funding their education beyond high school. This type of scholarship is very hard to find. We feel that there are more out there, BUT we do not know where they are. However, we will continue to look and add what we find to this web page. Although we have tried to find scholarships with no restrictions, we have to admit that some of these have a restriction or two. For example, some of these scholarships are for high school seniors. Many of these scholarships require an essay as part of the application process. However, we feel that people will be able to apply for a majority of the following scholarships. There is NO guarantee that you will be rewarded with a scholarship, because the competition is fierce for financial aid. The demand for scholarships is greater than the supply of money. HOWEVER, you have as good as chance as anyone else when applying for these grants and scholarships.

PLEASE NOTE: BE CAREFUL:

We decided to write the following statement about being careful on applying for scholarships that MAY no longer be available. From our experience of trying to list scholarships that are currently available, we have found that many scholarships stay on the World Wide Web, although the organizations that at one time funded the scholarships, NO LONGER fund the scholarship. We have found that all the information is on the organization's web page, BUT, the date for applying for that scholarship may be a couple years old. Our best advice is that IF a scholarship is listed on a web page AND the date of application is more than a year old, then it is VERY PROBABLE that the scholarship is NOT AVAILABLE. Our best advice is that if you are interested in a scholarship that has older information, then PLEASE TRY TO CONTACT them to see IF the scholarship is currently being offered. Definitely, a number of organizations may delay funding a scholarship for a year or two. However, there are many scholarships that are found on web pages that have been there for years that have NOT been funded for years.

Ascent Scholarships (NO Essay)

Sponsor: Ascent. "Ascent is a leader in student success, including innovative financial products and wrap-around support services that enable more students to access education and achieve academic and economic success." "Ascent scholarships are easy to apply for, with no essays required—just simple applications and a chance to win money for school."

Eligibility: "Ascent’s scholarship giveaways are open only to: (i) students who are legal residents of one of the fifty United States or the District of Columbia, age 14 or older, and who are enrolled in a high school, degree program, or technical skills training program, at least half-time or (ii) parents who currently have a child enrolled as a student meeting the qualifications of 2(i) (each, an “Entrant”)."

Money: $1,000 per scholarship. There are multiple scholarships.

It appears that Ascent may fund multiple scholarship contests at different times of the year. Also, it appears that Ascent likes to partner with other organizations in order to help provide the scholarships listed on their website.

The list of scholarships and access to the application requirements are listed on Ascent's web page at https://www.ascentfunding.com/scholarships/. Each scholarship MAY have their own, different application requirements. PLEASE read the official rules for each scholarship.

The scholarship award for the variety of scholarships has a tendency to be $1,000, per scholarship. However, that may change per scholarship. Winners are selected in a random drawing. There is NO essay requirement.

At the time of this update in January of 2025, there are two scholarships open. One is open until the end of February 2025 and the other is open until near the end of March 2025. I am NOT sure, but I suspect that by the end of 2025, one or two more scholarships MAY be listed. Since, Ascent seems to offer scholarships at different times in year, you may want to keep checking their website.

Although the winner is selected by random drawing, usually, there is something that the applicant needs to do besides only filling out a form. For example, here are the requirements for a scholarship from a while ago that is not available, now. The applicant had to:

STEP 1: Follow @AscentFunding and “Like” this Instagram post.

STEP 2: Leave a comment tagging one person who is deserving of an Ascent scholarship! Be sure to end your comment with #AscentSponsored.

STEP 3:
Save the Instagram post by tapping the “Bookmark” icon on the bottom right corner.

STEP 4: Complete the contact form then "Submit" your entry."

Here is another application process from a different, no longer available scholarship"

STEP 1: Follow @AscentFunding and “Like” this Instagram post.

STEP 2:  Leave a comment on this Instagram post tagging 3 friends below that would benefit from this scholarship! Be sure to end your comment with #AscentSponsored.

STEP 3: Complete the contact form then "Submit" your entry.

Okay, probably that is enough for me to say. I think that you see what the Ascent scholarships are all about. The eligibility requirements are pretty open to citizens of the United States. Often, each scholarship is $1,000. There is NO essay requirement. However, usually, there is some requirement requiring you to use Instagram.

Driver Education Initiative Award – Annual Scholarship Opportunity

PLEASE view their scholarship web page since there is A LOT to view about this annual scholarship. https://www.dmvedu.org/scholarship/

Source: DmvEdu.org Driving and Traffic School.

"Driving and Traffic School is proud to announce their scholarship opportunity, entitled “In the Driver’s Seat.” The company is seeking to reward essay applicants $10,000 in scholarships- for students  entering college or already enrolled in a higher education institution – on the topic of being a safer driver."

"Driver Education Initiative 2025: In the Driver’s Seat

The Topic of this year’s essay submissions deals with the serious implications of being a driver. In America, an average of 34,000 people die each year as a result of driving. This is more people who have died in one year as a result of driving, than the total number of American soldiers who have died from war in Iraq and Afghanistan combined. The total number of Americans who die within the span of two years as a result of driving is more than the total number of American deaths from the Vietnam war. This is to say, driving is more dangerous and deadly for our nation than being involved in combat,  and highlights the serious consequences of being negligent on the road."

Eligibility: "The winner will be required to provide proof of successful acceptance to a Higher Institute of Learning, College or University. Payment will be made directly to the applicant’s college. Bold.org Scholarships

According to Bold.org's mission statement, Bold.org believes in "fighting student debt. The average student today will graduate more than $30,000 in debt and is far less likely to start small businesses, seek the highest impact careers, buy homes, or start families. At Bold.org, we believe that’s a problem worth solving. The world is full of incredible people who are an opportunity away from making a huge positive impact. By enabling anyone and any company to create targeted scholarships, fellowships, and grants, Bold.org unlocks that opportunity. Students around the country are taking on huge amounts of debt to get access to the education they want and need. By enabling students to fund their education through exclusive funding opportunities, Bold.org broadens access to that education in an affordable and sustainable way."

My very basic, simple, interpretation of Bold.org is that they provide their own funding for MANY scholarships. However, they provide opportunities for organizations who want to fund scholarships, to go ahead and team up with Bold.org. Organizations are able to provide the funds while Bold.org is able to provide valuable financial and technical help for organizations that want to provide scholarships as easily as possible.

There is no question that Bold.org provides MANY "no essay" scholarships that make it "easy" for students to apply for these scholarships. However, there are a number of scholarships listed on Bold.org's listing of scholarships that are funded by other organizations and those organizations have limitations on who can apply for those specific scholarships.

Having said all of that, Bold.org is a GREAT source for finding scholarships.

https://bold.org/scholarships/ takes you to a web page that provides a list of a couple thousand scholarships. On this page, you are able to limit scholarships by state, major, or academic year.

https://bold.org/scholarships/by-type/no-essay-scholarships/ is a list of what a majority of students would be scholarships with "EASY" application requirements. That is requirements with NO ESSAY as a requirement. The scholarships listed on this specific web page are, basically, where the student fills in a form and waits to see if their application is randomly pulled from the drawing.

Here are some examples of scholarships presented/funded by Bold.org. They have MANY more of scholarships, that they fund, that can be found by accessing their website.

Like Bold.org's warning says: "Furthermore, this scholarship will be similar to the many easy scholarships available on Bold.org in that it will favor students who apply earlier—who are bold and seize the day without procrastinating."

Eligibility Requirements: "The $25,000 "Be Bold" Scholarship is a no-essay scholarship that will be awarded to the applicant with the boldest profile. To us, boldest does not mean best, or most accomplished.

Sallie Mae Fund Scholarship Program
(No Essay)

Sponsor: The Sallie Mae Fund

We have modified this listing a number of times because Sallie Mae has made a number of changes to their website and information over the years.

Over the years, scholarships provided by Sallie Mae seem to come and go. The thing to keep in mind is that apparently Sallie Mae will provide some scholarships, but you need to keep checking their website or organization in some way. As of this writing, the main web page to contact for scholarship information is: https://www.salliemae.com/. The information per web page seems to change all too often. My advice to you is to look at different web pages at the Saliie Mae website.

HAVING SAID ALL OF THAT, LET ME START HERE:

"Sallie Mae Acquires Key Assets of Top Scholarship Search App Scholly:"

https://news.salliemae.com/news-releases/news-releases-details/2023/Sallie-Mae-Acquires-Key-Assets-of-Top-Scholarship-Search-App-Scholly/default.aspx

As of 2025, It appears that Sallie Mae continues to offer the $2,000 NO-ESSAY SCHOLARSHIP BY SALLIE SWEEPSTAKES. The official rules are at this web page: https://46610517.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/46610517/2K-scholarship/2K-No-Essay-Scholarship-by-Sallie-Sweepstakes-Official-Rules.p

I strongly advise you to PLEASE read the rules in order to understand what is going on with this scholarship. I will copy and paste some of the information, here:

"How does the Sallie $2,000 scholarship work? Our $2,000 scholarship is a fast and easy way for you to enter to win free money for college. There’s no essay required, and all you have to do is provide some basic information about yourself. Enter now!*" https://www.sallie.com/scholarships/no-essay

"There will be fourteen (14) Grand Prizes available to be won. Each Entry Period there will be one (1) Grand Prize awarded, which will consist of $2,000.00, which will be in the form of a check made payable directly to the accredited post-secondary institution of higher education located within the United States attended by the parents child or student. Total value of all prizes available to be won: $28,000.00. There is a limit of one (1) prize per person/household. Odds of winning a prize will depend upon the total number of entries received for each Entry Period."

The CHART listing the 14 different entry periods is located on the official rules web page/PDF. Each time period represents a $2,000 scholarship.

There have been a couple of things that have continued over the years with Sallie Mae:

  1. Occasionally, Sallie Mae will provide scholarships, BUT they change.
  2. Sallie Mae has added a free scholarship search service. You may need to register.

It appears that Sallie Mae has a web page that features a directory/listing of scholarships: https://www.sallie.com/scholarships/scholly

There is some VERY GOOD information about scholarships and about searching for scholarships at this website. Sallie Mae is a very well-respected educational source.

Their own scholarships are listed on, at least, on a couple of their web pages. The following web page will go right to the page listing their own scholarships: https://www.unigo.com/scholarships/our-scholarships.

I think that most people would consider Unigo's own scholarships as "easy" scholarships. Each of their scholarships has slightly different application requirements. For eample, each scholarship requires a 250 words or less response to a question that is listed for each scholarship that Unigo funds. The deadline for application is different for each scholarship. Some deadlines are early in 2025 and some are a little later in 2025. The basics of who is able to apply is about the same per Unigo scholarship: "Must be 14 years of age or older at time of application.| Must be a legal U.S. resident.| Must be a resident of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.| This award is for U.S. students."

Burger King Scholarships

Sponsor: Burger King.

There is A LOT to say about the Burger King Scholarship program. I will provide some brief information about the scholarship program, but, you really need to visit some of the following web pages in order to take it ALL in.

https://www.burgerkingfoundation.org/programs/burger-king-sm-scholars

https://burgerking.scholarsapply.org/information.php

"Education is a key part of success, and we focus on bringing that to students in North America through our BK Scholars Program. The BK Scholars Program is the Foundation’s flagship program, established to honor the legacy of the Burger King brand’s co-founder James W. McLamore, whose commitment to philanthropy and education made him a pillar of community service throughout his lifetime. Through the program, we award scholarships to deserving high school seniors and Burger King® employees and their families to help advance their education. Because of Jim, his legacy, and the support of franchisees, the scholars program has now awarded a total of $60 million in scholarships to more than 51,000 deserving students throughout North America since 2000.

Scholarships range from $1,000 to $60,000 and are intended to offset the cost of attending college or post-secondary vocational/technical school. Recipients are selected through an application process that takes into consideration their grade point average (GPA), work experience, extracurricular activities, financial need and community service. In 2024 alone, the Foundation awarded over $4.5 million in scholarships to nearly 4,200 students. Scholarship status updates were shared on Monday, April 20, 2024.

The application period for the 2024-2025 will open from October 15, 2024 to December 16, 2024. Scholarship recipients will be notified April 2025."

For a number of years, DirectTextbook.com had a posting on the Internet that had an application date of 2018. That was up until 2024. Recently, I could not believe what appeared on the Web when I saw this information. I decided to copy and paste most of the information before the information went away.

I want to believe that DirectTextbook will provide this or another scholarship for 2025. However, I will keep checking.

Scholarships Listed on the Web with OLDER Dates.

Maybe we list too many scholarships with older application dates on this website, BUT the information for many older scholarships continue to remain on the WEB. It is as if the organizations that funded the scholarships, at one time, are continuing to fund the scholarships OR want to fund the scholarship, later.

We will continue to list SOME of these type of scholarships. Maybe some of the following scholarships will be funded again, sometime in the future.

We have taken a number of scholarships off our website and listed them in our nonactive scholarships web page. We suspect that MOST of the scholarships listed on our nonactive scholarship web page are LONG GONE.

Peterson's has been and continues to be a big name in education. They have provided a scholarship for many, many years. I am disappointed to see that they are not providing their scholarship, at this time. Maybe, they will decide their generous and helpful scholarship in the future. For that reason, I will keep this scholarship on this list, for now.

Peterson's Undergraduate Scholarship (NO ESSAY)

Sponsor: Peterson's LLC.

Eligibility: "Are you a high school senior or an adult learner planning to go back to school? We know how expensive (but valuable!) college can be.

In order to further our mission of promoting education after high school, Peterson's is proud to sponsor a $2,500 scholarship good toward undergraduate tuition."

Basically, fill in an online form and you are entered to win.

Money: $2,500.

B. Davis Scholarship

Like the Peterson's scholarship listed above, the B. Davis Scholarship has been funded for many years. I was sorry to see the following message on their website:

"New Information

Unfortunately, we will be unable to offer new scholarships for 2025.  It has been an honor and a privilege to have been able to offer scholarships for so many years.

Deadline and Eligibility
DEADLINE: Cancelled
AWARD VALUE:

This Scholarship is no longer available."

You can judge for yourself, BUT, it sounds to me that this scholarship is gone and may not be back. I will keep a watch out for both Petersen's and B. Davis scholarships in the the near future. Maybe the scholarships will appear again, someday, BUT it does NOT sound like they will appear anytime soon. The following information is what the B. Davis Scholarship offered.

B. Davis Scholarship

Opportunity to View More Scholarships:

YouTube Video:  How to Find College Grants and Scholarships is a short six-minute video that gives you an overall look at where to find college grants and scholarships. If you have no idea on where to start to find financial aid, then this video will give you a good idea on how to go about finding free money in the form of financial aid, grants, and scholarships for college or trade schools for a variety of groups of people such as nursing students, single moms, women, and just about any U.S. Citizen seeking scholarships with the least amount of eligibility requirements.

I think that most people would agree that it takes a LONG time to find scholarships with almost no eligibility requirements like what are listed above. We found that there is NO one source for this type of information. There is an ASTONISHING number of grants and scholarships out there, BUT we found it so FRUSTRATING trying to find those scholarships that had almost no restrictions when it came to eligibility requirements. However, we did find a Kindle eBook that will list about 150 college grants and scholarships with the least amount of eligibility requirements so just about any United States citizen or legal resident can apply for a majority of the scholarships listed.  The title of the Kindle eBook is:

College Grants and Scholarships with the Minimum Amount of Eligibility Requirements

The eBook needs to be updated, but there are a number of scholarships that continue to be active.

A majority of the scholarships listed require you to write an essay, but there are some scholarships listed that require no essay. Some of the scholarships are just for high school seniors. However, there are quite a few scholarships for students who have been out of high school awhile. There are scholarships for those who are about to attend college or are already in college. A majority of people will be able to apply to a majority of the 150 scholarships on this list of scholarships.

If you do not have a Kindle, you can download the free Kindle Previewer in order to view Kindle books on your PC at http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/?docId=1000765261 OR https://kdp.amazon.com/self-publishing/help?topicId=A3IWA2TQYMZ5J6 . We know how difficult it is to format documents for the Kindle so the formatting might be kind of strange for some of the text. However, we find the text tolerable and the links work.

Normally, we advise you to see if a local library has this eBook. However, we know that eBooks may not be a big part of many library’s budget so it is questionable if many libraries purchased this Kindle eBook.  We know how frustrating that it is trying to find scholarships with almost no eligibility requirements. Only you can decide if the low price of this eBook is worth it. We know that this eBook is in need of an update.
